Couples Counseling

Relationship strain can be a major stressor and we want to help. Your counselor will help you and your significant other create goals for the relationship that are unique to your situation. Counseling can also help with communication and co-parenting, even when staying in a relationship together is not the goal.

For couples work to be successful, both parties must be willing to engage in the process and be willing to make changes in their own behavior. It is common to come to couples counseling in a crisis and want a quick resolution; however, problems in relationships have often developed over a long period of time and while time to resolve. Your counselor can help you build readiness to commit to this change process.

Your counselor may identify individual stressors that are impacting your ability to work on couples issues and may recommend individual therapy to help you work on resolving the symptoms that are making it difficult to work on the relationship goals.

Couples work may not be covered by your insurance in the same way as individual counseling so check with your provider and insurance company.
